How to join COPGC
If you are thinking of joining COPGC, please see information below:
We have pay as you go PlayGym term-time Wednesdays 9.30-11am and you can start any week, no waiting list.
Click our Class Times page for more information.
We also have coached classes that work towards badges and events, these are split to "Adult and Child" and also "Independent Child” these are ran as 6 week taster courses at £48.00 Bookable on the online shop.
The next course starts week commencing 4th November and will be advertised mid-October. After completing the course gymnasts can keep that class place and pay an annual membership plus class fees. Class fees are pro-rata'd through the year and split to be paid direct monthly at £30.00 per month.
Before signing up to a 12-month membership, gymnasts can try a short taster course. This is a 6 week course of 1x45min class per week for girls and 1x1hr class for boys. Girls taster courses are £38.00 and boys are £54.00. After the taster course gymnasts can maintain their place by purchasing annual membership and also moving over to their monthly fees of £30.00/£36.00pm direct debits.
As the gymnasts progress they move up classes, there is no set amount of time in stage 1, every child progresses at their own pace, however we do aim to progress gymnasts quickly as once they move up and out of stage 1, this creates more spaces for new starters!
Gymnasts with Experience
All centres are different to what types of gymnastics they offer and to what level they can progress gymnasts to due to equipment/coaching/facility limitations etc.
At COPGC we have worked hard to create a large facility with little limitations so we can offer a wide range of programmes to suit all levels.
We also are firm believers in what a child takes away from their gymnastics once they finish training. Creating memories and experiences that help shape children to be strong, independent and confident individuals. This means we offer every child the opportunity to compete for the club both at our centre and also away.
There are trips that over 500 children are eligible for each year. Many gymnasts can take overnight training camps and trips oversees even if they train just 2 hours per week.
We do not limit experiences just for children at the highest level, our aim is to let every chid, regardless of their natural talent or current level have an opportunity to create memories to last a lifetime.
Our focus is on keeping children in the sport of gymnastics for a long time, to have lots of experiences and love the sport that much that they continue coaching as they finish training, inspiring the next generation.
Happy gymnasts are successful gymnasts and at COPGC we have do have lots of success in competitions. Whilst medals are not our main focus, it is a positive byproduct of our clear training plans, positive coaching and putting each child's individual progress and experiences as a priority, the result of this brings happy and successful gymnasts.
If you have recently moved in to the area or have been advised to find a club that can progress your child further, then contact us firstname.lastname@example.org with your child's Name, year of birth and include the skills they can currently do and competition experience. Videos also help us gage an idea of which would be the best group for that gymnast to trial in.
We have a cheer and dance club on site. City of Preston Cyclones Cheer and also City of Preston Dance Academy.
These classes and gymnastics classes compliment each other exceptionally and we would highly recommend participants crossing over disciplines.
Like the gymnastics, the dance school and cheer club both give opportunities for competitions, camps and trips away to give children and young adults lots of experiences.
Adult Gymnastics & Freestyle: Wednesdays 8-9pm £5.00 pay as you go, ages 13+
Our Adults and Freestyle Open gym is not directly coached, participants do their own warm up and stretch for 5 minutes at the start of the session and then have the full use of the gymnasium to work their skills.
This is a fun, open class and anyone age 13+ can attend with no need to book in advance. Participants from other centres also come to this class to top up their skills using our facilities.
Freestyle for under 13's.
At present we do not hold freestyle classes for under 13's however it is something we are keen to get started in the future.
