Adult Open Gym - Wednesdays 8:00-9:00pm
Our Adult Open Gym sessions are designed to provide a balance of self-guided practice and expert support, all within a fun and social atmosphere. These sessions are ideal for anyone wanting to explore gymnastics at their own pace, while also benefiting from structured components designed to enhance fitness and skill development. Minimum age 16 years.
What to Expect
- 10-Minute HIIT: Start the session with a 10-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout designed to get your heart rate up and muscles warmed for the gymnastics activities ahead. It's a great way to improve cardiovascular fitness while preparing your body for more dynamic movement.
- 10-Minute Coached Skill: After the HIIT warm-up, our experienced coaches will guide you through a 10-minute focused skill session. Each week, we'll concentrate on different gymnastics skills, such as balance, flexibility, or strength techniques. Coaches will provide guidance and offer tips for improving your skills, but the rest of the session is non-coached, allowing you to work at your own pace.
- Freedom to Explore: Once the HIIT and coached skill segments are complete, you'll have access to the gym's full range of equipment, including mats, trampolines, bars, and more. Use this time to practise the skills you've learned or explore other areas of gymnastics that interest you.
- Self-Guided Practice: While the session is not fully coached, our friendly staff will be on hand to offer general support and answer any questions. You're welcome to work independently or seek advice when needed.
What to Wear
- Comfortable, flexible clothing that allows you to move freely. Gym wear such as leggings, t-shirts, or leotards is ideal.
- Barefoot: For safety and to get the best grip on the mats, we recommend attending barefoot or in gymnastics shoes.
